For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. --John 3:16 |
I was raised in a Christian home and felt the call
of God on my life, accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour, and was baptized at the
age of thirteen. When I was eighteen, I received an offer to go around the world
with a big name band and use my gift of music. I was told that I could let my light shine
in a dark place and I felt that I was strong enough to go and not be touched by the ways
of the world. Many years later, in Las Vegas, I had reached
the "rainbow's end" and even with a pot of gold, I was miserable. I found that
you can have fun in the world for a season, but there is a price to pay. What was missing
in my life was the joy of being in Jesus. You cannot have joy without Jesus! The Lord
caused me to remember my youth and the joy of serving Him. He showed me that I had made a
mess of my life doing the driving and that I should climb in the back seat and let Jesus
do the driving. He told me if I would turn my back on "Sodom and Gomorrah" and
come out of her, He would give me my heart's desire. I obeyed and He anointed me with the
power to live for Him.
God showed me what my heart's desire really was and,
as He had promised, He gave me my heart's desire: the opportunity to spread the gospel of
Jesus Christ, minister in song and music, and share my testimony of how profoundly He has
touched my life. All praise and glory and honor to God!

For I know the thoughts that I think
toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected
end. -- Jeremiah 29:11 |
